My Story

I am the first person in my family to live outside of Asia. In an extended family comprising of 3 generations of doctors, lawyers, engineers, and accountants, I am also the first creative. I guess I've always been a rebel. When I was 14 I began listening to "Western music", at 16, I started dating, and I moved out of my parents' house when I was 18. I did all the things my cousins never dared to.

So at the age of 22, when I told my family that I wanted to quit a promising career in Finance to pursue one in Advertising, they weren't happy, but they weren't surprised either.

The things that make me the black sheep of my family are the same things that make me a good creative. I am unapologetically passionate about what I do, love asking Why? and saying Why not?, and I chase my dreams, even if they lie halfway around the world.

I am honored to be part of an industry that shows up to work in a tshirt and jeans, embraces its tattoos, and gets hammered together on Thursdays. But I am even more honored to be part of an industry that works its ass off, 7 days a week to challenge the status quo, make a positive impact in society, and change the world.

Now, all doctors, lawyers, engineers, and accountants in my family shout with pride that “Anish is a Creative” even though they have no idea what I actually do.
